Telefone




The Telephone is a 1988 independent film comedy starring Whoopi Goldberg as an out-of-work actress who starts doing some prank phone calls which created a chain of events

1948, Roberto Rossellini directed the anthology film L'Amore which had two segments, "Il Miracolo" and "Una Voce Umana", the latter based on Cocteau's play. In 1959, Francis Poulenc composed an opera adaptation of the play. On May 4, 1967, the final installment of the television series ABC Stage 67 was a production of the play, starring Ingrid Bergman, who also recorded a record album of the play. There was also a 1998 BBC Radio production by Robin Rimbaud.

The film has two parts: "Il Miracolo" ("The Miracle") and "Una Voce Umana" ("The Human Voice"). The latter is based on a French play The Human Voice (La Voix humaine, 1930) by Jean Cocteau. Rossellini and Fellini co-wrote "Il Miracolo", and Rossellini adapted Cocteau's play. Magnani appears in both segments.




La voix humaine is a forty-minute, one-act opera for soprano and orchestra composed byFrancis Poulenc in 1958. The work is based on the play of the same name by Jean Cocteau, who, along with French soprano Denise Duval, worked closely with Poulenc in preparation for the opera’s premiere.
